Welcome To My Blog

If you are into talking about the Kansas City Chiefs, this is the place to be. I am Aiken_Drum and I am a Chiefaholic. If you are too, great! Let's discuss this team that we inexplicably love to follow. Don't be afraid to be critical here. Positive or negative, they are all thoughts about the Chiefs. Also, do not tell ANYBODY here that they shouldn't respond in a certain way. You don't like what they said? Just stop commenting. Be the bigger commentor.

What's This? Kansas City Chiefs Fans Are Hating On Andy Reid and Alex Smith? OMG! Please Clarke, Say It Ain't So!!!

Hello Chiefs fans.  I come not to praise Caesar but to bury him.  Bury him deep, deep beneath the Astroturf of Lincoln Financial Field--where he should have never been exhumed from.  :)

It's so hilarious as to not be believed.  Every year since the Andy and Alex show began, I've seen the same arguments about whether or not they suck.  The amazing part is that there are still plenty of people out there that defend them and pretend they don't--until now.  Hell may have begun to freeze over.

Good God people!  I just read a back and forth on another blog between two fans.  One quite correctly points out a couple of failed Alex plays and even posts video to support his argument.  The other writes a book about simple safety coverage and how Alex made the correct choices based on what he saw when the two teams lined up.  The results of the plays were incomplete and interception.  Who gives a shit about making the right decision?  Alex can't execute so what IS THE DIFFERENCE?

In order for there to be a difference, the player needs to be able to do something with his decision.  Alex?  Not so much.  Same for a head coach too folks, and I can tell you that Andy doesn't make decisions during the game.  He makes them all prior to kickoff and then follows them--NO FUCKING MATTER WHAT.  PERIOD.  If any of you cannot understand that after watching him on the Chiefs sideline for the 36th time, then there is no joy in mudville.

I don't want to hear the excuse machines either.  Oh yes, they are running.  I've seen a few like, "Well the Chiefs ran into a buzzsaw of a schedule to start the season" and "Poor Chiefs, had to play tough games on the road".  Really?  Like no other NFL team has to do that, right?  Yet, other teams WIN games.  The Chiefs?  Not so much.

This is what is next on the plate for the Chiefs.  They are at home, versus one of the stinkiest teams in the league right now.  I gotta say, if Reid et al blow this one--it's time to cue the fat lady.  I mean, this game is tailor made for the Chiefs defense.  They should not let Chicago even score a single point.  I predicted that the Chiefs would win this game prior to week one kickoff.  After the last couple weeks, I'm not so sure it will be that easy now.

Bob Sutton has shown his idiocy relentlessly now this season.  If you would like some background on Sutton, read this.  After reviewing that article, I'd have to say Sutton is a lot more like Sutton than he is like Pettine.  The really sick part?  Sutton probably has the most talented set of pass rushers he's ever coached in Hali and Houston.  Add a fairly blank slate to fill with great knowledge in the form of one Dee Ford and you seriously have to wonder just what in the hell is holding this DST (along with Dee Ford) back.  DJ is getting a little worn, but he is still very serviceable, Sean Smith (in my opinion highly overrated), Peters and Cooper seem better than average and Abdullah and Berry at safety--what gives?  What do you think Pettine or Rex himself could do with that defense?  The only answer I can think of is, substantially more than Sutton has.

I don't know.  What I do know is that this forty year thing got old twenty years ago.  Reid and Smith and Dorsey too, must go.  It's way past time.  Please just tell me that if the Chiefs somehow lose this game, Clark will punch Reid's ticket.  Please.

Don't think for a moment that this game is sewed up folks.  Not FOR A MOMENT.  This team looks more demoralized than I've seen it since Herm left and that is saying something.  Reid was 'livid' on the sidelines the other night?  How could you tell?  The man should have been throwing chairs a la Bobby Knight based on how pissed I 'hear' he was from folks this week.  This is another of Reid's problems guys.  He is a 'players' coach.  That shit just don't work.  These players need their asses kicked when they screw up, not an understanding ear and a pat on the wrist.  Remember how many times Charles fumbled after Haley told him to protect his football?  One time that entire year.  Jamaal has fumbled, on average, four times a year for every other year he's played.  Get over it.

When the game starts on Sunday pour yourself one of these:

Then stand ready with the bottle.  If things start going South, just start drinking.  I can't even imagine the feeling if this team loses to this:

Please football GODS, say it ain't so.

Go Chiefs (hides eyes).
